MISSION SERVICES.

A meeting for men only was held at tlie Alhambra Theatre yesterday afternoon, when Mr W. M. .Oatts dealt* with the subject of " Social Purity." The address was impressive and telling, and was delivered with great power. It was well received throughout. Mrs Oatts addressed from 300 to WO women iu Knox Church yesterday afternoon. The heavy rain, no doubt, prevented a fuller attendance. The subject was " Excuses." In the evening, at a quarter-past 8, Mr Oatts addressed a very large gathering in the Garrison Hall. He took for his text 2nd Samuel, chapter iii, verses 17 to 21, giving special attention to the eighteenth verse. In a snrnion that was full of power the preacher showed the manly benefits accruing to one who accepted God as his guide in all his actions. Saul despised God, and his reign was a failure. It was a mistake to think that religious people were weak. There was the ease of General Roberts, the bravest general who ever lived, Those, too, who took sides with David were the pick of the nation. In the morning Mr Oatts occupied the pulpit at St. Andrew's Church, and in the evening he preached in First Church. This week the services will I)o,held in the Alhambra Theatre. Mrs Oatts meetsyoung women at 7 o'clock on Tuesday in the Y.W.C.A. Hall. Mr Oatts holds Bible readings on Monday. Tuesday, and Wednesday, at 3 p.m., in the Y.W.C.A Hall.
