The bank reserve is £21,666,000, the proportion of reserve to liabilities being 44.55 per cent. The notes in circulation amount to £28,773,000; public deposit-s, £8,224,000; other deposits, £41,096,000; Government securities, £15,432,000; other securities, £29,589,000. Three months' bills are discounted at per cent. Consols are quoted at £96 12s 6d. Quotations for colonial Government stocks are subjoined, compared with those ruling at the close of last week:— Jan. 25. Feb. Cargoes and parcels are quiet and unchanged. The American visible supply of wheat ig estimated at 87,408,000 bushels. Copper is nominal. Spot, £71 ss; three months, £72. Iron, 52s 9d. Lead, £15 ss. Sugar is steady. German, 9s 3d; first marks, lis 3d. The Bradford wool market is quiet. Common sixties, 18d; supers, 18Jd. At the sales there was fair competition and a hardening tendency. The sales close' on the 9th. The Longburn clip fetched 6Jd. Butter is firm, and there is a good demand. Colonial and Danish are both unchanged, but the market is recovering. Chee.se is flat. New Zealand, 52s to 535. (Received Feb. 2, at- 8.52 a.m.) Wheat: The cargo ex John o' Gaunt sold at 29s 9d. Silver is quoted at 2s 4d per oz..
