LOYALTY v. BUSINESS.

TO THE ERITOII, Sir,—No one that went through tho city last Thursday could fail to notice how general was the mourning for our late gracious Queen. Even tho pettiest traders in the by-streets loyally observed the holiday, and seemed to deem it a privilege to oease from work for that day. Some persons, however, show their loyalty and reverence in a queer fashion, and it is notorious that certain tobacconists gave a unique proof of their particular form of reverence for our departed ruler by openly carrying on business on a day by common and spontaneous aotion set apart for a better purpose. A good many of the customers and friends of thesa traders will.watch their proceedings next Saturday.—l am, etc., January 30. Vekb Sap.
