A CLIFFS MYSTERY.
A DECOMPOSED BODY FOUND.
CAUGHT IN THE CREVICE OF A ROCK.
Two boys named Edward Dyer and Charles Goodman reported to tho police at South Dtmpdin yesterday that while rabbiting on the cliffs, about a mile and a-lialf beyond Mr E. B. Cargill's residence, they found the remains of a man in an advanced stage of decomposition in a small., steep gully overlooking the cliffs. Sergeant Conn, accompanied by tho two boys, at once proceeded to the place in question, and found the body in tho condition described. It was jambed in the crevice of a rock, in a sitting position. The head was all decayed, and only tho bones remained. The body was dressed in a brown coat, vest, and trousers, and a brown hat was found lying close to it, while a sugar-hag containing a white blanket and a red and white cotton shirt lay about two yards away towards the front of the cliffs. This would seem to indicate that the man had fallen into the crevice where he was found and had died there. Tho body will be removed this rooming to St. Clair, where an inquest will probably be held. Nothing was found to lead to the identification of tho remains. Possibly someone may bo able from an examination of the clothing to identify the remains, and thus solve what is at present a mystery.
