FIGHTING IN CAPE COLONY.
LONDON, January 16. A sharp fight occurred at Murraysburg on the 11th. Six British were killed, li wounded, and five are missing, chiefly from the South African Light Horse ' and Brabant's Horse. SEVENTY-TWO MEN MISSING. January 15. After the engagement at Belfast on tho 7th inst. 72 men belonging to the Royal Irish and the were missing. RAIDERS AT ORANGE RIVER. January 16. (Received Jan. 16, at 10.40 p.m.) Lord Kitchener reports that there are several small parties of raiders returning to the Orange River. Some Cape rebels are accompanying the raiders. THE BOEES IN STRONG FORCE. January 15. It is estimated that there are 20C0 Boers between Clanwilliam and Sutherland.
Another commando is advancing from Beaufort West. All the men are splendidly mounted, with plenty of spare horses. They are extremely bitter at the refusal of the Cape Dutch to rise in rebellion. THE, CAPE CYCLISTS IN ACTION. The Cape Cyclist Corps are fighting like mounted infantry, and have proved a most useful force. uENERAL DE LISLE'S FORCE. General Re Lisle, with a strong column, including the New South Wales Mounted Infantry, lias arrived at Piquetberg, via Sutherland. STRENGTHENING THE YEOMANRY. January 16. The War Office is enlisting 5000 Yeomanry for a year, or for the duration of the war.
