The .. dredgo is now stopped, tho tumbler flange having broken. ■ The Jutland Flat Company's dredgo resumed dredging on Sunday last at midnight. 1 The Secretary of the Second Magnetic Gold ■Dredging Company reports haviDg received tho following • wire from the dredgcinaatcr:— " River- too higji; will wait and start 21st." j Tho secretary of tho Alexandra Lead Gold Dredging Company has received the following report from the engineer:—Ladder, buckets, and machinery (A. and T. Burt): Tho ladder lias been completed and despatched to the claim; bottom tumbler, ladder lifting gear, buckets, and grab-hooks are all forwarded to the claim. Machinery: There is not much more work to do on this contract. Top tumbler, with shaft and crown-wheel, condenser and heater, and all other portions of gear have been sent to claim. Tho remainder will be ready E fop delivery at an early date. Elevator and winch (J. M'Gregor and Co.): The elevator is well advanced.. Rollers keyed on to shaft and fitted into position; the driving gear for elevator is being pushed forward. Winch is now well advanced. Boiler (Dunedin Engineering Company): Casing is finished, and shell plates ready for boring. Tables finished and away to the claim. Pontoons almost completed, with the exception of the ladder and elevator framing. Messrs Christio Bros, have already got a large quantity of the fluming for the race for tho Fourteen-mile Beach Co.npany on to the ground. They have also sent up a number of men, and the work will be proceeded with. An Auckland telegram states that tho Talisman Consolidated treated during December 612 tons ore for a yield of bullion valued at £1222. The output for the past year was £28,G15.

NOTES PROM CROMWELL. (Fbosi Ouit Own Correspondent.) ' CROMWELL, January 8. The rivers are rising, and the weather threatening heavy rain. The crews of the dredges are back, ready for work, but there is no likelihood of starting till the rivers go down. . NOTES PROM ALEXANDRA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) ALEXANDRA, January 8. The Molyneux is slightly lower to-day. Work on the Alexandra Lead is still suspended, though the pieces for the upper framework are ready for crection. The wheels on the Golden Falls dredge were tried to-day.
