She left Sydney at 1.30 p.m. of the 29th ult., had light winds from S. to S.W. with smooth seas, and passed Cape Farewell at 2.30 | a.m. on the 2nd inst., roaching Wellington at noon thd same day. 'ARRIVAL OF THE MORAYKTiIRE. The sulendid Shiro liner ' Morayshire, Captain D. Duncan, ' from London, , via Las Palmas, Fremantle, and other ports, arrived at Port Chalmers--at j 5.30 p.m. of the sth inst., and was moored at j the south side of the ocean steamers' wharf, i where she at once commenced taking in wool and general cargo. The Morayshire came into port in superb order, and Captain Duncan's I wide circle of friends will lie glad to welcome him hack once more. We thank him for tho report of the passage taken from his abstract log:— She left the Royal Albert docks ■' on August 27, and anchored in the river for the night, leaving the Thames on the following morning. Had fresh.westerly winds with fine weather down Channel and all across tho Bay of Bicay, anchoring at Las Palmas at noon of September 30. Took in a supply of i bunker coal,' and'"resumed the passage on the ! evening of the same day. Had light N.E. i winds down to lat. 12 N„ and .crossed the equator on September 10, in long. 11 W„ when the S.E. trades were taken. They were strong, and carried her to'the Cape ot Good Hope, which she rounded on the night of September 21. Fresh westerly winds from N.W. to S.W. marked her passage across the i Southern Ocean, and sho arrived at Fremantle j on the 10th October. Discharged a full general cargo, and left again on November 1, , arriving at Albany on the following (lay. Replenished her bunkers, and left that port on November 4, and reached Sydney on tho 11th. Took in bunker coal, and procfedecj to Townsville, at which port she arrived on November 19. Took in a quantity of general cargo, and left again on the 21st, arriving at Roekampton next day. Embarked cargo, and left again on November 27, arriving nt Brisbane on the 29th; embarked general cargfo, and left again on December 1 for Sydney, reaching that port on the 3rd ult. Was quarantined for a day on acroimt of sickness. Left Sydney on the Bth u:t., arrived at Auckland on the 13th. took in cargo, and left on the 17th: arrived at Napier the next day: left again after embark--1 intr cargo on the 22nd ult.; arrived at Wel- , lington on the 23rd: left that port on the29th, and reached Lyttelton on the morning of. the 30th ult. Received cargo, and left again on the evening of the 4th inst. Had very thick weather along the coast, and came to anchor Si miles off the heads at 11.30 a.m. of Saturday. As the fog lifted slightly, in the afternoon, she weighed and steamed up to' Port Chalmers as above. Amongst other cargo from London for Fremantle, the Morayshire had a number of pedigree cattle, consisting of Ayrshire and shorthorn stock. The Morayshire's officers this voyage are:—Mr Dingley, chief; Mr.M'Kcnzie, second;"MrHoward, third; Mr Apnleyard, fourth. The chief engineer is Mr Small, with Mr Day as second, Mr Radford, third, Mr Yore fourth, and Mr . Roberts fifth. The chief refrigerating engineer is Mr King, while Mr Anderson is ' second. The Morayshire takes Home a full freight of wool and general cargo, and ships about 1000 bales at Port Chalmers. She has already in her holds 14,800 bales wool, 1100 do flax, 6 do hair, 39 do Tags, 215 casks tallow, 1300 cases meats, 203 logs timber, 550 bags ore, 1000 ingots tin, 70 cases honey, 300 do gum,.. 47 bags '137 cases 50' casks shale, 400 •.drums clvcerine, 7 bags whalei7one, 10 bales sheepskins, 10 do r.-.bbitskins. 100 casks pelts, 4000 sacks wheat, 60 bales'leather,' quantity of bullion, and several packages sundries.
