Tho Post Office Creek (Wstipori) Gold Mining Syndicate report a return of 28oz for three weeks' sluicing. Prospects improving. The Secretary of the Ford's Creek Gold Dredging' Company informs us that he has received advice from the dredgemastcr that he has shut down for the holidays, and did not wash up last week on account of the gold-sav-ing appliances not being completed. The Dredgemaster of the Leviathan Gold Dredging Company (Limited) wires :—" Washed up for SO hours, 430z 7dwt amalgam." Stopped several times during the week on account of breakages to elevator rollers. The Dob3on No. 2 dredge was not dredging at all last week. Mr W. H. Quick, of Melbourne, reports the following returns from Victorian dredging companies:—Junction Dredging Company, Porepunkah, 80oz smelted gold for 14 days' work; Ovens River Gold Dredging Company, 84oz smelted gold for 13 days' work. The Post Office Creek (Waipori) Gold Mining Syndicate obtained a return of 28oz.for three weeks' sluicing. The prospects are improvin|y the s.s. Tho Upper Waipori Alluvial Gold Dredging Company (Limited) obtained last week 320z 19dwt of gold for 137 hours' dredging. The Jutland Flat (Waipori) Gold Mining Company (Limited) obtained last week 17oz 2dwt of gold for 141 hours' wages time, 127 hours' actual dredging. The Empire Company's gold return last week was lloz lOdwt 22gr, valued at £150 19s. The dredges are now closed for the holidays for 10 days!
