i'lie Bank of England returns show the stock of gold, coin, and bullion to be £28,557,000, and the reserve £18,274,000. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 40.23. The total notes in circulation is £29.633,000 ; public deposits, £7,259.000 ; other deposits, £37,969,000; Government securities, £16,187,000; other securities £28,704,000. Consols are quoted at £97. Three months' bilk are discounted at 4 per cent.
