The Christehurch Racing Club's meeting was concluded to-day. The weather was fine, though a strong wind was blowing. There was a fair attendance, and the sum of £2249 10s passed through the totalisator. Results:

LAWN TENNIS.
The Ex-Kigh School Tennis Club opened their new courts at the George street School on Saturday last, when there was a large at-
tendance of members and visitors from other clubs, and, in spite of the disagreeable wind, numerous well-fought games wore played. The Ex-Hi-,'!) School Club, which latelr has had many 'difficulties to contend with, hns taken a new lease of life, and seems likely to again take the place it formerly held among local tennis clubs.
DRAU GHTS CHAMPIONSHIP.
Mr F. 0. Hi'likor, secretary to the Dunedin Draughts Club, informs us that arlvicc
was received by the San Francisco mail on Friday night that the match for the world's championship resulted hi a draw. Score, Jordan. 2 games; Barker. 2 mines; drawn, 36. Tiarker won the thirty-fourth game—a Denny.
