POLLARD'S OPERA COMPANY.

PINAFORE,

"' H.M.S. Pinafore," which was produced bj Pollard's Opera Company*on the final night 61 their recent season, was again staged last night, and attracted a good house. The performance; as a whole, met with general approval, and'a number of tho vocaj items were warmly encoued. Miss Daisy Bavis, who was cast as Josephine, did full justice to the part, her rendering of ''Refrain, audacious tar" being one of her most enjoyable numbers. The character of Little Butterciip, which on the occasion of the previous production of the opera was impersonated by Miss May Beatty, was last night nortrayed by Miss Lily Stephens, who 'acquitted herself fairly "well,- but-was .liaidly' so sprightly as could b^ wished. Mr Carter, as. Ralph R-ackstraw, earned the hearty goodwill of the audience, and his singing; proved very acceptable, his rendering. of " Light of my life, especially being much appreciated. In the second act ot.the opera a number of solos were introduced. Mis 3 Gertie Campion rendered "' Susie-ue" very pleasingly, and was .warmly encored; • Miss Opie was twice recalled * for " Three . little words," sung in capital style; Mr Carter had to repeat a verse of " The Deathof Nelson"; Mr Fitts was heard to advantage in '■.Children 'of the Empire"; and. Miss Eily Sullivan, a diminutive young lady, drew coins from the pockets of ths audience by her singing of •The Absent-minded Beggar." The-perform-ance concluded with a very effective tableau. '" Pinafore" will be repeated ibis afternoon, and the season will close to-night, when "The .Belle of New York" will make her reappearance. ,
