TENDERS will be received- by the undersigned until 15th AUGUST, 1900. for the PURCHASE of the SPRINGVALE CLAIM and DREDGE, Manuherikia,. near Alexandra. 1. The Claim is a Special (dredging) Claim, No. 406 a, containing 97J acres (more or less), being Section 22, Block VIII, Leaning Rook District, and Section 29, Block VI, Tiger Hill District. 2. The Dredge has a steel Hull, in good condition, and has been reconstructed lately to adapt it to working in solid ground. The length of the dredge is SOft Bin, the breadth 18ft, and depth at centre 4ft 6in. The ladder is 50ft from centre to centre. The bucket lips project 9ft ahead of the bow when the ladder is raised to the surface, thus allowing the dredge to work into solid ground; the ladder is also fitted with telescopic extension, thus making it dredge to 35ft. ..The dredge has also been fitted with a new steel gantry of improved design. The engine is a 16 horse-power nominal compound (horizontal), with air pump,' feed, and bilge pumps. The boiler is 20 horse-power (nominal), internally firec 1, multitubular. Buckets 3 cubic feet capacity, with links and manganese pins in perfect orde:. Revolving screen, elevator, iron gold-saring tables, expanded metal, and cocoanut matting. The ton tumbler is new. The winches have six barrels, driven by a pair of horizontal engines, fitted with Joy's link motion. Centrifugal pump, lOin (by Gwyne) A large amount o' money has recently been spent on this dredge to adapt her for the work required at the Springvale claim, and during the 14 weeks she was running there she did good work, and proved herself to bo a. very handy and.serviceable machine. For further particulars regarding the dredge reference may be made to E. Roberts, Esq., engineer, Dunedin. Inventories can be seen at the Office of the undersigned or in the hands of the caretaker of the dredge on the claim. Alternative tenders will bo received- (1) for Claim and Dredge together, (2) for Claim alone, or (3) for Dredge alone.
