DISTRICT' HIGH' SCHOOLS. TO THE EDITOR.
. Snt,—The present Education Board maj bo an unhappy family, but will that seemingly inconsistent member, the Rev. P. "B. , , Fraser, mend matters by doing his best to rob the poorer country teachers that district high schools may be retained? If the teachers of district high schools should be paid at a higher rate than the teachers around them, should not that money come from the pupils and not from other teachers who may have similar work to do? Just fancy a man with 50 pupils, ranging from class X to P, suffering that about 20 pupils in a high school may get the higher work a little better taught than the one-horse man can give with the time at his disposal. It is easy for tho Rev. * P. B. Fraser to slump the country — I don't suppose his parishioners siiffer, —,but let him remember his poorer former, fellow Workers. ■Wellington should supply cash for high schools.—l am, etc., TomtiE.
