VICTORIA INSURANCE COMPANY,
The annual balance sheet of the Victoria Insurance Company (Limited) for the year ended 30th June, 1900, appears in this issue. The result of the year's operations, after providing £17,000 for unadjusted losses, shows a credit balance of £29,14-8 19s lid. Out of this the directors pay a dividend of 2s 6d per share, absorbing £11,234- 10s, and add £8000 to their reserves, which now stand at £44,838 4s 4d, leaving £9914- -9s lid to be carried forward to the present year. As fire and marine losses during the past 12 months were v.cry heavy, the above result points to careful underwriting throughout the sphere of the company's operations.
