THE REPRESENTATIVE TEAM.
TO THK EDITOR. . Sin—Now that the trial matches are on it behoves the Match Committee to keep theneyes o«en and their brains alert and not pick the representative team in the same way as they picked it last season. It »to be hoped that-the full back will be selected on the season's form as well as on his play in tho trial matches. The same remarks apply to tho other players. I would also tho committee to take no notice of rumours are floating about town at present. /We have plenty of canablo three-quarters this season, fairly fast and sound in defence—players who do not go in for gallery play, but play for all they are worth. It tho committee does 'not wish'the province to get a showing np this year as they did last, especially against Auckland, where our three-quarters were left ifrnominiously iv tho rear when Auckland was attacking, they will ponder over these linos. If not, I shall return to tho charge.— I am, etc., _^ tuv.iht—Not Reputation.
