PRESENTATION TO MR SYDNEY

Mr Myers, (president) .and Mr H. L. James (secretary to the Tahuna. Park Trotting Club) drove out to Mr Sydney James's residence, Forbury road, yesterday morning, their object being to present him with an engrossed address voted'by the Tahuna Park Club. Mr James, who is confined to his room, thanked the gentlemen who waited upon him very lT'Uch for their trouble in coming, and the Tahuna, Park Club for voting the address. Mr James stated that lie wished his health were better, so that he might thank them in mbro suitable term?. The address was as follows:—"Mr Sydney James. Dear Sir, —At a meeting of the Tahuna Park Trotting Club it was unanimously resolved to write to you expressing their appreciation of the good work you have dono in connection with the club's particular class of sport. We regret that you are unable longer to take an active interest in a sport you have done so much to encourage and improve. We trust you may for years to come be able to take an interest, even if of a less active character, in our special class of racing. For and on behalf of the club, we are, dear sir, yours, very sincerely, S. Mtehs (president), Hugh Goueley (vice-president), J. Bkowk (treasurer), H. L. James (secretary)."
