VOLUNTEERS.

The regular meeting of the Dunedin District Officers' Club was held at the Garrison Hall oil Friday evening. The president (Colonel Webb) was in the chair, the following officers being also present:—Lieutenant-colonel De Lautour, P.W.N., Captain Hislop, Quartermaster M'lndoe, Veterinary Captain Snowball, Lieutenant Robertson (staff), Surgeon-captain Fulton and Lieutenant Fredric (Dunedin Navals), Captain Morris and Lieutenant Prnin (Otago Hussars), Captain Chahner and Lieutenant Baz-on (B Battery Artillery), Surgeonmajor Will (Engineers), Lieutenant Douglas (City Guards), Captain Myers and Lieutenant Slowlcy '(North Dunedin Rifles), Lieutenants Cameron and M'Laurin (East Taieri Rifles), Lieutenant Washer (Wakarl Rifles), Surgeoncaptain Closs (Bearer Corps). Apologies for non-attendance vrere received from Captains Barclay, Price, Stronach, and Lieutenant M'Ai'.'i. 'I'he lecturer of the evening was Lieu-tenant-colonel de Lantour, who took up the •subject of " The Reorganisation of the Medical Department," and dealt with it at length. An interesting discussion followed, Colonel de.Lautour being accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his address. It was notified that arrangements had now been made for revolver practices for the officers, the first practice taking place on Saturday next. I
