MR INDER IN REPLY.
TO THE EDITOIE. Sib, —I wrote emphatically protesting against Mr Ramsay's unfair imputations where he had not given facts, and denying the only fact (?) stated in a sufficiently concrete, form for me to get hold of. He twists this into an admission, and writes: "Mr Inder having admitted my facts," etc. What is the use of carrying on a controversy with a man -who can be gtiilty of that?
The statement that " I never knew what it was to possess a political principle, being made by Mr Ramsay, will not mislead other people, and does not harm me. Mr Ramsay, however, should remember, when making accusations of this sort, that people in glass houses should not throw stones. If he ever had any political principles the}- are very changeable. Mr Ramsay does not confine his inconsistency to politics, and he makes only a very feeble efiort to defend himself from that charge as it is contained in my previous letters, and he now endeavours to turn the charge against me.
Sir, I do not hanker alter notoriety, and I do not intend to spend a considerable portion of my time writing letters to the public press. If Mr Ramsay wishes to discuss our personal opinions he had better do so by private correspondence, for, though Mr Ramsay will not agree with me, I am quite sure that our opinions are of interest only to ourselves.—l am, etc., Naseby, July 26 F. W. Indee.
