SOUTHLAND POULTRY SHOW.

INVERCARGILL, July 25.
The show of the Southland Poultry and Dog Society was opened to-day, with a considerable increase of entries in poultryclasses. Among the outside exhibitors B. Hart (Lawrence) was most successful in. black-red and pile 'game; A. and H. Olarkson (Christehurch) for Indian game;' R. W. Howeson for silver Hamburgs; John Rose (Opoho) for Spanish; A. and C. Grant (Mosgiel) for Minorcas; Aitcheson, (Kaitangata), W. J. Waters {Port Chalmers), and A. M. Eyes (Lawrence) for Andalusians; W. D. Burns and Hunt (Oamaru), C. Lucas (Christchurch), 'H. Hearfield' (Sydenham), F. Dacre (Linwood), and W. C. Lillico (Timaru) for Leghorns ;l J. S. rCesteven (Christchureh) and W. Bloyj (Lawrence) for Dorkings; T. Breeze (Ashimrton) for Houdans; W. Goss (Christchurch) for Wyandottes; W. J. Waters and A. M. Eyes for Orpingtons; J. Aitcheson for Brahmas. The South Island Association's championship for Leghorns went) to F. Dacre (Linwood) for brown cock. T. S. Kesteven took the association's chanir pionship for dragon pigeon. The northern exhibitors had decidedly the best of tlie awards.
