NORTH-EAST VALLEY.
About 50 householders were present at the statutory meeting for the election of a committee for tlio above school disirict. Mr W. Mitchell occupied Iho chair,'and an apology from-"the' Rev. Mr Borrie for lion-attendonco wa3 read. The report of the outgoing committee was adopted on the motion of Mr Smith, seconded by Mr Arthur, both speakers complimenting ihe retiring committee on the very satisfactory manner in whioh affairs were conducted during their term of office. Several questions wore asked by Mr Campbell with reference to the stale ol and procedure in connection with the children's banking accounts. Tho Chairman stated that every precaution was being taken to ensure cleanliness in the school. Kino candidates were nominated for the election of a c-ommiltco, and the voting resulted as follows:—W. Mitchell 33, J. W. Roberts 33. .T. Arthur 32, Robert Smith 32, T. Stout 30, J. J. .M'Laren 30, J. Manson 28 (elected), T. Short 27, O. Dunham 23.
