CHALMERS CHURCH.-FARE-WELL SOCIAL MEETING.

A large number of the members and friends of Chalmers Church met in St. Paul's schoolroom on Wednesday evening to say farewell to the Rev. J. M. Fraser, who has resigned the charge of the congregation. The Revs. M'lntyre (moderator of presbytery).. Borrie, Dutton, Finlayson, Cameron, Sutherland, .Hannerrmtn, and Don and. Messrs Duncan Wright, W. B. Hariow, and D. M'Pherson occupied seats on tho platform. Apologies were received from the Revs. Dr Waddelj, Messrs Hewitson, Scorgie, Waters, Jolly, and -Mr T. K. Sielcy (mayor of Caversham). Mr A. Matheson, ono of the elders, presided, and, on behalf of the Ladies' Guild, presented Mr Fraser with a, beautifully-illuminated address, and also a handsome silver tea and coffee sbi'vico for Mrs Fraser. The 'ministers present expressed theiresteem for Mr and Mrs Fraser, and also their sympathy with the congregation in its present trying circumstances. Musical items were contributed by the Misses Mullin, Cameron, Mitchell, M'Ewan, and Messrs Wilson, Todd, Watt, Simpson, de Lautour, and a recitation by Mr S. M. Park. Miss- Ferry Icindly acted as accompanist. Tea and refreshments were provided by the ladies of the congregation, who may fairly be congratulated on the success of their first social gathering.; '
