The Hillside Workshops employees have sent iv £36, and to this amount the Telegraph department'help with an additional £9. to secure the equipment of a man from Iho workshops named Black. Tho telegraph lineman for whom tho horse was intended having1 failed to pass, the donation was transferred as mentioned.
Tho Enterprise Gold Dredging Company sent £25 for a horse, to be called "Enterprise."
The watchmakers increased their donation by an additional 10s 6d.
Messrs Tucker and Co. sent £2.
The Dunedin consulting engineers sent £25, Green Island and Fairneld borough contribute £37 Is. v
Port Chalmers sends £50 for equipment. The Allanton committee transferred from tho patriotic fund £30 to the contingent fund.
The-pupils, past and present, of Braemar House yesterday brought in a subscription of £25 for the purchase of a horeo to l;e called jßriiemai. *
Mrs O. R. Wise, of Oamaru, lias presented a horso to be used by an Oamaru trooper. A circular has been sent'out from the district police office inviting tho various police officers in Otago to contribute towards the cost of a horse for tho fourth contingent. The subscriptions are limited to ss.
The ironmongers of Dunedin have provided a horso for Corporal Meyer, formerly in the employ of Laidlaw and Gray. From St. Batbans Mr W. M'Connochic wires that Mr Pyle and himself collected £53 in as many minutes, and also secured offers of three horses.
Heriot is ready to equip Sullivan if ho is accepted.
Ti\e men enrolled from Lawrence, fully equipped,- are M'Donald, Bryant, Swanwick, and Duncan.
Tho Palmerston men offering with horses are William Ross, Gavin Kidd, Frederick Bayley, William M'Dougall, and George Ross with horse and equipment. Mr Henry Bayley, of Palmerston, sends produce to the value of £50. Captain Hawkins wires that, the men and horses of the Southland company leave Invercargill on Saturday morning. ■ _ The Roxburgh men—William Gunn, Alexander Clarke, and William Stringer, fully equipped—left for Dunedin yesterday morning.

The manager of the "National Bank lias written to the committee stating that all of those in the employment of the bank going with the contingent will he granted six months' leave of absence on half pay, and that tneir situations will Ire kept open foi them At the ordinary meeting of the Pioneer Lodge, 1.0.0. F., held on Tuesday evening, patriotic speeches were made by several members. I'ive guineas were voted towards providing a. horse, to be called " Oddfellow" and £1 Is towards a horse to be called " Dispensary," in connection with the United Incudly Societies' Dispensary. The Green Island miners and Fairfield district have decided to provide a horse, to be eallod "Collier," as a mount for Alfred smith, a volunteer from the district; the surplus to go towards his equipment. In the event of his not being accepted, the horse to bo available for any other member of the contingent. The following arc the donations:—Walton Park mine. £5 13s: Freeman's mine, £7 lls 6d ; Jubilee mine, £4- 15= : Harris's mine. £3 7s 6d: Nicol and Stieddon'n mine, £2; Christie-Bros.' mine, £5 9s 6d ; Brycc Bros.' mine. £1 ss; Fairfield district, £4 18s fjd : Fail-field choir. £3- total £36 V These include £1 Is each from Messrs .'. Kenyon, J. London, and James Howoith, raid £1 from Mr W. Martin ; while the miners give a day's wages. The. Union street School' children, on the suggestion of Mr G. C. Israel and Mr Bull, who represented the committee, agreed to forgo the school treat and give the money to the fourth contingent, the children loudly oliesring the proposal. The horse to be furnished by the boy? of .the Otago Boys' High School is to be called "School," tho rallying cry of the 0.8.H..5. Tho necessary amount has been subscribed by the boys now at the school, with tile exception of 10s give:-, by Mr (i. M. Thomson 10s by the jsniitor (Mr .). Wallace), and £1 Ids subscribed by boys lately in tho school, whose subscriptions will be acknowledged in the school magazine. It is the wish of the boys Hint, if possible, the horse should go to the equipment of some old O.H.S. bo" who is not in a portion to provide a horse for himself.
