INTERCOLONIAL YACHT RACES,
SYDNEY, January 27,
Tho weather was fine in all the colonies for Anniversary Day. The demonstrations were chiefly remarkable for the patriotic addresses aroused by the war. ■
Messrs Pittar and Hordern have arranged for three races between the yachts Rainbow and White AVings, ovei- a 22-rhile course, early next week. ; ■ ' . ,
• ' (Received Jan. 28, at 6 p.m.) ' In the. Koyal Sydney,- Yacht Squadron's 17-mile (time by rating) race, the Bona, with 39sec allowance, and the. Rainbow, with lmin 37sec allowance, finished a dead heat. Meteor, with 13min 37sec allowance^ finished third. The wind was fairly strong, but uneven. The Bona, though more than once interfered with by passing vessels, led for the greater part of the course. There was aii. exciting finish,' and the Rainbow, closing up fast, managed to make a dead heat of it with-her time allowance. • ■' " ."•■•' ■
