MINING.
TheJ Central j Charltonl, Dredging.. Company (Limited), with a. capital of £7000, in 7000 shares' of £1 each; has been duly incorporated. This company has been formed to work by dredging 110 acres flf freehold on the banks of'the.'Charl-, ton Creek. The provisional directors' have allotted shares, and the statutory meeting' of shareholders is, fixed for Monday, January 22. The directors of the Zenlandia Syndicate have secured the services of Mr John'Doa-and Mr N. K. Sligo as mining experts. Although this syndicate was only registered in October, a large number jof what are believed tobe ■ valuable properties have .already been \seourecl. These properties are.now being inspected by ths company's experts with a view to having each of them thoroughly inspected, and in order to attain this end the directors are providiug Messrs Don and Sligo with a thoroughly up-to-date plant, including boring rods, etc., to test each claim for depth and nature of bottom. Tha directors are determined to leave no stone unturned to safeguard'the interests of the investing public, so that when any of the claims they hold are put on the market .investors can rely upon it that they have been tested. The return from the Alpine mine, Lyell, for the month of November was 2140z gold from 940 tons.
Thu directors of the Manorburn Gold Dredgmg Company (Limited) declared a dividend of Is per share*(the. 13th) payable to-day, making 5s per share in seven weeks. , ■ . ~
KEPORTS PROM WORKING DREDGES.
The Secretary of the Manorburn Dredging Company reports a return of 51haz for the week ended Saturday. The Magnetic dredge' was stopped during last week in consequence of the high floods, and opportunity was taken to effect repairs. The Secretary of the Chicago Dredging Company report.? a return of 290z lOdwt 6gr for last week. •
The Secretary reports that the Matau dredge cbtamed 7oz gold for four days' dredging. The dredge is now stopped for overhaul. Mr J. J. Gibson, Lawrence, reports a return from the Success dredge of 550z -idwt for 139J hours' dreclging. The Dunedin Stock Exchange reports the following return for last week:—Golden Treasure Company, 50oz lOdwt for 7£- days. . The Secretary reports that the return from the G olden Gate dredge was 490z 3d\vt for five days' dredging. The Secretary ol the 'VVaimumu Gold Dredging Company, reports a return of 15oz for 100 .hours' dredging. The Secretary of the Dunedin Dredgih" Company reports a return of 9oz for two and a-half days' dredging. The Secretary reports a return oflGoz from the Golden Point dredge for last week. The secretary of the Morning Star reports a return of Boz for 127 hours' dredging. The dredgemaster reports that the ground is netting deeper.

, The secretary of the Chatto Creek reports having advice to the effect that the ground is deepening again, which is regarded as an indication that the limit of the reef has been reached. There' is no wash-up to report this week.
