Oingo Heads,, steering ■towards Pleasant River. Vivien abreast of. Jones Read, about throe miles off-shore, the net was hauled in after three aim a-half hours trawlin'r. 'The result way a largo quantity of roil cod, a number of skiio and elephant fish, and about 20 dozen very large flounders and soles, as well as three dozen,fine gurnard. A course o'-i the land was then':steered, and the ne*. shot..again in-21 fathoms, towing* towards Blueskin Bay lor come, four hours. The resultin^- haul was a,splendid one,, a largo quantity of the bent edible fish being secured, including a quantity of the largest .flounders and s'ofes over seen in the Dunedin market. A third haul was tried close to the land near Blueskin Bay, but after a* time,' finding the
strain ou the towing lines considerable, it was resolved to haul in, when the bag of the net was- found completely filled with seaweed. This, unfortunately, necessitated a return to calm water inside the harbour in order to clear tho net. It was 100 late then to go outeicle the Heads again, so the trawler returned to Dunedin with her splendid haul of fish. Tiie Express is in command of Captain Slierlne'' who lias had previous experience in the'ti-o. r Dauntless ancl others,, and tested the wholo of the ground years ago. So far the Express has realised expectations as to her suitability, and, as far as* trawling has gone, the new industry gives promise of being a success. The Express goes off again.at midnight, to-night, and in the meantime is open for inspection by the shareholders ancl others interested. ' " '
