The Government have offered £1000 reward in the Woollongabba jnurder case.
The man Borinor, who was arrested on suspicion of being implicated in the murder, has been released from custody.
Woollangabba is a suburb of Brisbane. On the morning of the Bth inst., a young man, in passing the cottage occupied by an old woman, a widow, named Sarah Weaber, 70 years of age, noticed that it was burning. Ha raised an alarm, and a number of people burst into the house and extinguished the fire, and it was then seen that the occupant had a fearful wound behind her head from ear to ear. The fire was evidently an attempt to hide the crime. There were1 a number of chairs piled on the bed, which were burning- freely when the fire was discovered. The police arrived early on the scone, but no clue was found, not even the weapon with which the deed was done. No motive beyond robbery is suggested. Mrs Weaber lived alone, though several relatives resided near.
