ROWING.
D.A.B.C. ANNIVERSARY FOURS. The final heat in the above race, which is for the president's silver. 'challenge trophy and four gold medals (trophy and medals presented by Mr C. F. Greenslade, president),and for which 15 crewß have competed in the preliminary heats, was rowed last night. The four crews eligible to compete , made their appearance 'at the -starting , post shortly -before dark, and were immetuately ■ sent. away on their journey by Mr J. A. Stable*. Aftei- going a quarter of a mile Isaacs carried away His rowlock, allowing.the otherß/to get away, but on noticing the mishap the other' three crews, who were then on even terms, generously suspended rowine, and on repairs being effectedthe race', was re-started-i ■ On ,this occasion Isaacs was the first to break, away., and led till nearing the wharves, where Farquharsph and Hall put in their claim, Isaacs/however, was successful in maintaining hie advantage, and looked all over a winner, when Williams, on the ' beacon side, with a splendidly-timed spurt, snatched the victory'on the post by a few feet.
