WASHINGTON, April 18.
The cruiser Marblehead" will join i;he cruiser Newark, which has been ordered to proceed to Samoa. The battleship Texas has also been ordered to hold herself in readiness to proceed to Samoa.

With referencu to Father Larnche's charge of inhumanity against Captain iSturdco at Samoa, tho account of an eyewitness states that what really happened was that over 500 Malietoans, expecting an attack, look refuge in the boats around H.M.S. Porpoise. A .squall- blew next day, rendering the position untenable. Captain Sturdee took 500 on board, the rest going on board the Falke by arrangement as sonn as tho weather v cleared. None of the boats were capsized, nor were any of tho occupants drowned.
