Clearing Sale.—Donald Reid and Co. report having held a clearing sale on behalf of Mr John Wright at his farm, Mosgicl, on Tuesday, tho 18th inst., when they submitted his stock of dairy cows, farming implements, etc, for umescrved sale. There was a good attendance of farmers and others, and a satisfactory sale. Dairy cows F-old at £2 to £3 12s G:l; young cattle up 'to £3 12s Gd. There was a large cojIcclion of choice, purebred fowls, which sold at fancy prices. Implements and sundries all being disposed of at fair values.

Sheepskins.—There was. a very good attendance of buyers at the sales this "week, when largo catalogues were offered. Although the market is up considerably b-t Home, it made very little difference to prices yesterday,' and buyers were very slow at bidding.'

Rabbitskins.—There is keen competition for all classes of rabbitskins, and the market during the last fortnight has risen ljd to 2,.d per lb. Best autumns are fetching Od to lid, summers 5d to 7d per lb ' * Hides.-Market is improved. Quotations: Best ox, 3d to 3.', d; extra heavy, 4d; medium light, 2Jd to 3d; inferior, 2d to 2kl per lb.

Tallow and Fat.—Prime rendered is selling at 13s to 15s; medium, 11s to 12s Gd; inferior, 9s to 10s Gd; rough fat, 8s to lls per cwt. The market looks brighter, and should the market remain firm'at Home, Vpriccs should go up hern. ,

Grain.—Wheat supplies coming forward are not very large, owing, no doubt, to. tho late rains which have been prevalent all'over Otago. Prime milling velvet is worth 2s 4d to 2s Gd; medium do, 2s 3d to 2s -Id; prime Tuscan, 2s Sid to 2s sd; medium, 2s 2d to 2s 3d; medium milling, 2s 2d to 2s 3d; fowl wheat, Is lOd to 2s for whole; and Is Gd to Is 9d for broken. Oats.—There is a fair quantity coming forward, but a good part is for storage. Prices are easier, and still there is very little blisiness doing in the wny of shipping, as oats can bo purchased much cheaper elsewhere. Quotations: Sutherland*' and milling, Is 3Jd to Is 41d; prime feed; Is 3d; medium and inferior," Is ljd to Is 2id (ex storo, sacks extra). Barley.—There is n fair quantity coming forward, but the demand is very limited. Malting is worth 2s Id to 3s 4d:' milling, Is lOd to 2s; feed, Is fid to Is 9d (sacks extra). Chaff.—Prime chaff is scarce; prices still remain good. Prime is selling at £2 10s to £2 15s; medium. £2 to £2 ss.

Potatoes.—The demand for potatoes is very poor. Shippers can buy much cheaper f.b.b Oamaru, than they can here, so the only inquiry is for local consumption. We quote: Oamaru Derwents, £1 17s 6d to £2; extra,choice, £2 2a Gd; southern Derwents, hard to sell at £1 15s to £2 (bags in ). •
