This Company has boon formed ior Hie purpnao of carrying on the Business of Sea -Trawling and Sea Fishing in all its branches on the coast of New Zealand and the sale and distribution and the manufacturing for any useful nurpaso of fish and fish products. • 'Hie business of Trawling has been proved to bo a lucrative one, and it is believed that under competent management and with modern appliances, good profits may bo earned. The Directors will not confine themselves to this market, but will' distribute from C'liristclmrch to Invercargill inclusive, and also export as opportunity offers. For the supply of prime edible fish we have hitherto been dependent on small fishing boats which can only go out in line weather. It lias, therefore, always been uncertain and insufficient Trawlin- should obviate this, and bring in both a larger and more certain supply and that of a better "class of fish. This is evidenced by the recent local trawling experiments suggested by Mr G. M. Thomson, and carried out by jilr F. J. Sullivan. An nereement, dated March 28, 1899, has been made between F. J. Sullivan of the one part and R T Wheeler, jun.', on behalf of the Company, of the other part, whereby, the former a"rees'to sell his fish business, which has been carried on for several years past in Stuar street Dunedin, together with the leasehold premises, plant, goodwill etc , and the benc.it .of his investigations and experience. The agreement also provides or the services of Mr Sullivan being secured for a period of three years, and may be seen, along with a copy of the memorandum and articles of association, at the office of Mr R. T. Wheeler, ]U n. Under the management of Mr F. J. Sullivan, who has had 10 years' experience' m the colony, the success of this Company should be assured. During a recent visjt to the Homo country and America by this gentleman, he made exhaustive inquiries, and obtained a conskcrable amount of documentary and other valuable information relative to trawling, fish manure, and the fishing industry generally, all of which will be at the disposal of the ComP"n jlr Sullivan shows his personal confidence in the venture, by taking shares paid up to 10s as. part payment, and also applies for, 300 contributing shares. It is the intention of the Directors to commence operations at once with.one trawler, and secure more later as required. ' ,11-11 A Fish Manure Factory may also be erected, nnd with this and other probable developments in view the capital is fixed at £20,000. - - It is estimated that not more than 10s per share will be called up to meet present reqUlroo o^™6o shares have already been applied for, and the Company will start trawling at once, ' The flotation expenses will be borne by tho Company.
