THE MASSEY-HARRIS CYCLING SPORTS.
The fifth cycling sports of- the MasseyHarris " boyß'' ■ was .held at tho Caledonian ground, yesterday-afternoon. Fine weather prevailed throughout the afternoon, and thero was a moderate attendance. The programme,comprised 24 events, and these were" got off- very punctually, tho result being that the sports were concluded eat a reasonable hour. \Tlio- big event, of -the, day—tho,T«i_mile Employees'.'Championship Handicapwas won by F. Caulton; but the ,p_ize is-to go to tho competitor who gains the greatest number of.-points at three .meetings, of W'hichvyesterija'y. s was the first; A: Ralston carried off the special, ni'iz'o, given by Mr W. A. Shields, for the competitor who gained the greatest numher:_\f: points in the finals of the, various events'.during the-day. The number of points gained'by, him ,was 18, G. Porter coming next with 15 point.;. The Garrison Band were in attendance at the sports, and played a-number-of selections at intervals during the afternoon. Mr R. Hendry also entertained visitors to, the ground by an exhibition of trick-riding.;: Meßsrs- D. Moore, ,T. H. Lawrence,'W., B. Courtis, and A. B. Smyth acted as, judges, Mr W. A. Shields 'as starter, aud :Mcssrs A. L.. Smith' and J. Davies as timekeepers. The details of the various events are as follow :—-
