WELLINGTON, April 12,
The Government have given orders for the Tutanekai to return at once to Auckland from Awanui. She could take 200 men at a pinch, and the Premier slates that 500 would bo in readiness in 18 hours if there were st.epmers to take them. He has not renewed the offer to the Home Government, as, if men are wanted; they are aware that the New .Zealand Government are prepared to Supply ,'them, and there are any number ready to go. He expects the English Government will probably cable here if they desire to avail themselves of the recent offer. . .»
. If the Tutanekai goes to Samoa, she will probably call at Tonga and acquaint the Governor with the position of affairs at Samoa. She would'in that case also take an order for l_._ti._s. Mildura if Admiral Pearson thought necessary to send her to the assistance of tiie other warships.
