A DANGEROUS PROCEEDING. TO THE EDITOR.

Sib, —Will you kindly permit me to warn those who carry guns of the danger there is in discharging them within certain limits of the public road, both to themselves, from a legal point of view, and to others whom they may injure. Last Sunday some young m-M discharged a rifle twice from the Lower Portobello road into the adjoining bush, the bullets passing perilously • near to my children, who were sitting close to a milk can which was fired at and hit. The wanton mischief was bad enough. The probable loss of life perhaps did not occur to them. I have offered a substantial reward for the conviction of the offenders, and have every reason to believe they will be brought to book. Perhaps this warning may deter others from doing the same thing.—l am, etc., Portobello Road.
