Judgment was given for the plaintiffs, with costs, in the following, undefended cases: — Henry -Harraway (for whom Mr Stephens appeared) v. Eyton and Co. (Auckland), claim £25 19s 4d, for goods supplied;' .Thomson, Bridger, and Co. (for whom:Mr D. Cooke appeared) :-v. Thomas Findlay (Cromwell), claim £2.155,if0r goods supplied; Brown, Ewirig, and Co.- (for-whom Mr D. Cooke appeared) v. Robert Pearson (Clyde), claim £4 9s 3d, < for goods supplied.; , . .'■■:..■■: Samuel Wootton v. John Keogh, claim fl-ls Bd, - on; a judgment summons.—The defendant appeared, but as there was no appearance of the plaintiff, the case was struck ..out. . : Catherine Bayne Miller, v. James Reid, claim £17 2s 3d, on a judgment summons.—Mr J. Mouat appeared" for the plaintiff.—After the defendant had given evidence, his Worship refused to make an order.
Thornaa Little v. Thomas Walsh (Kuri Bush), claim £30, damages for the destruction of a stable, barn, and cowshed by a fire which the defendant lighted .on his own property.—Mr Gullaway appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Payne for the defendant, who admitted liability ; but contended that the damages claimed wfero excessive.—After evidence, his Worship giivo judgment for the plaintiff for £9 arid costs. James Henry v. John Finch, claim £14, balance due for board and lodging.—Mr Gallaway appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Stephens for the defendant.—After evidence, judgmentwas given for the amount claimed, with, costs.
