AUCKLAND, January 16.

A Native boy named Taumata was burned to death in a tent at Taupiri. He and another child were got out by their father, Te Rahike. The other child, though badly burned, is recovering. _ Louis G. M'Gill, a passenger by tne schooner Medora, when between Ohora and Cape Karakara, was knocked over by the boom. He was rescued promptly by a boat, and went to sleep in his berth, but subsequently died. At the inquest held at Vvhangaroa a verdict of accidental death was returned. ... CHRISTCHURCH.. January 16.
