LAKE LOGAN.
TO THE EDITOR. Sin, —Lake Logan is a portion of PeliclieV Hay, forming a beautiful Blieet of water, running inland to the boundary of the Town Belt, whicli is not so well known to the citizens generally as its position, and its attrac-. tiohs ought _to 'make it. I find, too, that something, ails the arrangements connected with its oversight. A large sum of, money—' something like £1100, of which the Government contributed pound for pound (to'give work to i tlie unemployed)—was spent Irv walling in the lake and making a road round it, unfortunately not quite completed. This; road forms a favourite promenade of the people in the locality and is at once pleasant and health-giving, but from the fact of its apparently having no one to look after it the wall is going to wreck and the stones with which it is pitched are falling into the sea. It wants repairing and completing, and especially someone to look after it, and after tho lake generally. This, I take it, the City Council should sco to. The sluice gates, too, which let the water in and out are not in good . working order, and the baths need looking to. There is need of a general overhaul : and the expenditure of some money. The people round about, I understand,1 will do their share, but it requires the council, as tho custodian of the public rights, to take the initiative. Verb. sap.—l am, etc., December 20. William Hutchison.
