HOOLIGANISM AND MUSIC HALLS

TO THE'EDITOR. Sir,—The Hooliganism of London musia halls, spoken of in your issue of Saturday, has long since, reached this .colony. WliiJo in Dunedin recently I heard in a publio-haU. songs of as low a type as those mentioned by the School Board officers. One song—"There was Hooligan, Patsy Hooligan "—glorified the adulterer, and went into particulars disgustingly. Females present applauded tho songj and others were in the circle on the stage. Has Dunedin, like London, a class demanding immoral songs ? If not, why allow tha supply to create a demand I —l am, etc., ■ Waimatb.
