RICKARDS'S TIVOLI COMPANY.

The performance given by the above company at the; Princess ' Theatre' last night was as heartily enjoyed as any which preceded it during the present season. Mr Rickards, who made: his first appearance here; with the company, "met, with." ah . exceedingly Vcordial, reception. WhenVhe .first" oame.'before' the footlights he was greeted with a loud outburst of applause, which was continued, for some little time, and each of'his: vocaliefEorts was also subsequently ,encored enthusiastically.:.-. His first contributions were-a couple of serio-comic songs—viz., "That is,a jvoman's.wayy.and "By the sad sea waves." - Both of these' greatly took the fancy of the audience, aud in order to try and satisiy their demands Mr Rickards sang the well-known coster ditty, "'E dunuo where.'c. ■are,"-which he had-the'honour of first introducing to the Australian colonies. Even, then those present seemed not to have had,enough, and loudly recalled the singer, who came forward again, and in a heat little speech thanked. ■ the audience for their: kindly reception of him. Mr Albertßellman and Miss Lottie Moore were also received most cordially. They appeared in ah amusing dramatic sketch entitled "In Clover," which"., secured for them a double recall.' -Miss Moore, who'has established herself a! warm" favourite with the theatre-going public, was also-the recipient of some beautiful floral offerings during the evening. Ugo Biondi, bosides his ■ dramatic comedy: " Discovered,'';imper«onated a number-of celebrated cpmposers, and also several great potentates, includingl Bismarck, President M'Kinley,: Li •Hung-Chang, Gladstone, apd others, each impersonation being-greeted by the audience with hearty demonstrations of approval. The othermembers of the" company likewise succeeded m:greatly, pleasing.all present. Tiie company:, only give two more performances in Dunedin.
