The following candidates have been nominated for the Tuapeka Beat:— Mr Robert Gilkison, solicitor, Clyde. _ Mr John Johnson Ramsay, commercial traveller, Anderson's Bay. ■ Mr Charles Champion Rawlins, mine mana- | ger, Island Block. Mr James Sim, farmer, Qrookston. Mr Henry Symes, auctioneer, Alexandra South. Our Alexandra South correspondent telegraphs:—" On Saturday evening Mr Gilkison, ' one of the candidates for Tuapeka, addressed a orowded meeting. He had a most enthusiastic reception. A unanimous vote of confidence was accorded him. The Dredge Owners' Association at a meeting pledged themselves to support Mr Gilkison's candidature." ,■„,„,.„,.,
