LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. Beautiful weather was experienced for the Ladies' Championship Golf Tourney yesterI day. Duihig the afternoon a large number of visitors repaired,to the links to watch the handioap competition. Once agaiii the Otago representatives were to the fore, Mrs Fergus, with a handioap of 7, handing in the lowest card with a net score of .97. Miss M. W. Scott, who started off from ■ scratch, came next with a score of 98. Miss Scott's score is the record so far for the Championship meeting.. Her play all through.has been exceedingly fine, and her exhibitipn yesterday especially justified her being i placed on the scratch line. Mrs Pearce, of the Hutt, Club., 'scored the lowest of tha visitors, her card showing 99 net (113—14). Her play" has evidently improved with a better knowledge of thj links.
