HEIR TO UNCLAIMED PROPERTY.
WELLINGTON, September 13. In the Supremo Court to-day, beforo Mr Justine Edwards, an order was mado under tho Unclaimed Lands Act declaring Alfred Levy, of Paris, to be the o'wnor of certain lands and funds in tho hands of tho Public Trustee, previously belonging to a Dr Joseph Levy, who died in New Zealand in the year 1864. Tho facts brought before the court wore that Dr Levy leftXytlolton by tho stoa.mer City of Dunedin for Holutika, by way of Wellington, in the year 1854-, and that nothing has been heard of the steamer since sho loft Wellington on that voyage. Dr Levy owned lands at Timaru, valued at £1070, the income from .which in tho hands of tho Public Trustee has since accumulated to over £600. Whilst in Wellington Count D'Abbsuw. formerly Fronch Consul, caused inquiries to be mado through the French Government for the hoir-at-law. which rcsullod in their discovering that Alfred Lovy, nephew to thedeceased, living in Paris, was tho'person entitled, and thcroupqu the Minister of Foreign xVffairs of the French Republic forwarded a powor of attorney with instructions to approve of Alfred Levy's claim to tho lands and funds in New Zealand. The Public Trustee consented "to the ordor.
