GOLF.

On Saturday, at the Belleknowes links, the St. Andrew's Golf Club played a match for their Record Reign medal. The weather was fine, but a strong S.W. wind was very troubleseme to most of the players, the scores being anything but brilliant. A large number of players took part in the match, which was keenly contested. Four ' competitors having, already won this medal twice, a win by either would decide the ownership, it having to be won three separate times, or twice in succession. The winner turned out "to be Mr G. Button, who scored his third win. He therefore takes the medal. There have been 13 gomes played, the winners being G. Hutton, 3 wins; ' Messrs Gregory, Sneddon, and Ferens. 2 each; Messrs Dall, Houston, Jolmstou, and B. Smith 1 each.
