PLOUGHING BEE.
No fewer than 16 ploughmen in the Upper Green Island Bu«h district turned oat with j their teams on Tuesu»y last to give a day's ploughing to Mr R. Sprott, who has recently sublet his farm. The Green Island farmers have always proved themselves to be « neighbourly lot, and tbic occasion showed again that when the necessity arises for affording a little help to one of their number they are moot willing to lend their assistance. Those who took part in the bee in question were Me-iurs P. Crawford, A. Crawford, A. Liddel, G. Riley, D. K*ne, A. M'Grepor, W. Hamilton, J. Faulds, J. Campbell, W. Sprot.t, G M'Lareu, W. Harty, J. Matbeoon, W. Knox, J. Barren; and J. Murdook. After the day's work a very pleasant evening was spent, to the harmony of which several ladies and gentlemen contributed. Mr and Mrs Sprott did all in their power to make tbe evening an enjoyable one, and that they succeeded in doing so was the \erdict of all preseDt. UNIVERSAL OPINIONS. That the duty on tobacco is one of the main sources of revenuo, and that the best brand is DUNLOP'S DERBY. Smoke no other.
