Smith has got inserted in the city press the public are evidently expected to infer that the award of a gold medal by the society to Messrs Howden and Moucrieff was not bona fide. Allow me to say that the gold medal was anauimcusiy voted by the committee S3 a slight recognition of the enterprise of that firm in providing at the roM show in December last, at considerable expense, that magnificent combined floral and electric* light display which many of your readers will remember.—l am, &c, May 13.
