Mr James .Tagq wa» as successful as usual, if not even more so, in Ms sinking of Haddock's coniposition "The soul's'awakening," being also loudly applauded;, "and unable to escap« respondiug to. a dem-.indfor its repetitiotK Th« other solos were "Tha gift of rest;" fCo wen), by Miss liena-Treseder;. "-The. Better Land" (Jude), by Mies Brenier; "Nazareth" (Gounod), by Mr D. Hutton ; and "Thri'Holy City" (Ad.ms), by Mr Carter, and all received merited approbation.
