•. • Hanlon, JFs.) Drunkenness.—William Martin was fined l%a, or three days' imprisonment, and a first offender (who did not appear, and who had some £4 in bis possession when arrested) was fined 10s, in default 48 hours'imprisonment. ! . ■'.; "
Petty Theft.—A little, boy named William O'Leary was charged with stealing a pair of boots belongingio Mrs Lindo, Ferguson.—Chief Detective O'Brien stated thatthe boy with some others went to Mrs Ferguson's place,and asked for some food. While the servant; went away to supply their wants the b«y O'Leary Baw the boots and took them away. He told his mother he got them from a lady, and he also told the police the same story, but afterwards admitted that he stole tKein.—The Bench ordered the boy to be whipped by the father in the presence of a constable, and adjourned the case for a week to receive the con-stables-report. . '
