Christchurch, February 28.

An inquest was held to-day before Mr R. Beetham on the body of Kate Louiea Scott, on whom Dr Russell is charged with having performed an illegal operation. The evidence of Dr H. C. de Renzi, who attended the deceased,, and Dr SytneE, *ho made a post mortem examination, wits that death resulted from septicaemia arising from peritonitis caused by a miscarriage. After a short retirement the jury r«turned a a vardiet "That deceased died from *eptie peritenitis." •
