Perm. Sec. Bro. H, B. Reufree delivered an instructive address on "The Formation and Progress of the Loyal Caversham Lodge." At ;t« terminf.tion he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. It was decided to arrange a stcial evening for next ' lodge night. Bro. Mnllins (Loyal Albion Lodge) and Bro. W. H. Beviu (Loyal Pnds of KsHangata Lodge) responded on behslf of the visitors. The receipts were £11 153 Bd. In the Hawke's Bay district there is a school that the inspector cannot afford time or rhonej to go to. It is on Portland Island, off the south end of Mania Peninsula. The inspector (Mr Hill) is endeavouring to induce the Government to allow him to proceed to the island by the Hinemoa when nexb she iSjin the neighbour* hood, in order that he may examine the school at this isolated spot. .
