NORTH ISLAND CONVENTION. j (Pek United Press Association.) ■Wellington, February 24. At the North Island Convention of Druidsi the very, important question of the account feafcween the Grand Lodge of Australia and the District Grand Lodge of the North Island came up, and it was decided to insist on the amount due to the North Island Lodge beiDg paid, even i£ legal proceedings should be necessary to enforce the payment. The lodge adjourned to admit of the reception of the Registrar of Friendly Societies (Mr E. Mason). In the course of an address Mr Mason said he had always advocated home rule for the North Island Druids, even before Bro. Mackay did so. He hoped: that the Druids would always keep in mind the importance of the question .of finance. The election of officers resulted as follows : —D.G. president, Bro. Purnell (Wanganui); D.G. vice-president, Bro. Thomson (Blenheim); secretary, Bro. James Mackay (Wellington); treasurer, Bro. E. FJetcher (Wellington) ; inside guardian, Bro. M<Kenna (Patea); auditors—Bcos. Quarrie (Wellington); Fulleu (Levin), and Wynyard (Petone). It was decided that the next session be held at AuckLajuL.
