THE SENTENCE OF THE COURT.
IMPRISONMENT AND A HEAVY FINE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. Paris, February 23. (Received February 24, at 9.40 a.m.) At M. Smile Zola'a trial M. Labori continued his address to the jury, and subjected the judges who tried the case to merciless criticism. He said that with childish credulity these judg-ss had constructed a theory of Dreyfus's jjuilt, which they had since sustained by means of falsehood and hypocrisy. They should, however,, remember Pontins Pilate, whose name was most execrated through all history. The passionate Address of M. Labori was followed by an extraordinary scene. M. Zola kissed his counsel in open court. The spectators, whose sympathies are against the advocates of Captain Dreyfus, wildly cheered the army.
(Received February 24, at 1.30 p.m.)
The trial has ended. M. Zola was sentenced to one year's imprisonment, and fined 3000f.
